Writing the Paper
After all the research is done and you've gathered your thoughts, it's time to sit down and write. For some of us, that can be the most intimidating part. This section of the guide gives you tips to make it easier.

Note Taking
Depending upon your style, there are a variety of ways to take notes.
- Highlighting text when reading
- Using paper or electronic ways to take notes that summarize, paraphrase, or quote the source. Be sure to keep information on the source. An easy way to reference the source is by the first author's last name and the page number the information came from.
Paraphrase
Restate an important idea in your own words

Take the exact words from the source and surround them with quotation marks.
Writing Assistance
Within Canvas, students have access to Tutor.com under the navigation menu within a class. This lets them submit a paper for 12-hour review.
Eagle Writing and Design Lab
Located in Room 119 in the Library. Students can make appointments by visiting the homepage of the lab linked above.
Monday - Thursday: 10am - 4pm in person
