OER Authoring Tools
SUNY Empire State has provided an extensive list of tools which can be used to create/edit open educational resources.

Whether you have decided to create an OER from scratch or adapt or revise a currently existing one, it is important to determine the type of license it should have.

Choose a Creative Commons License
Use the license building from Creative Commons to determine how a new work should be used.

Information on applying a Creative Commons License on either digital or print documents.
Open Attribution Builder
Open Washington provides this tools to help individuals create the proper attribution for sources that are used.

Sharing OER

Open Educational Resources do not have to be textbooks. Faculty may already have created resources that can become OER. Examples are:

Syllabi
Course
Video/Tutorial
Worksheets
Assignments
Tests, quizzes, assessments

If you decide that you wish to share these resources, then think about:

What license should be applied to it?
What format is it in? Plain text is more accessible and more easily remixed than PDF.
Where will you house it? Contact Nam Nguyen to discuss including it in ERAU's Scholarly Commons.
