Scholarships - What are They?
Scholarships are awards based on specific criteria. Scholarships and/or Grants can come from the federal government, your state government, the university, and/or a private or nonprofit organization. It is generally an amount paid to a student at an educational institution for the purpose of study. Scholarships are usually merit-based (based on your academic or athletic talent, or on your interest in a specific subject or career), or for financial need. Scholarships do not have to be paid back.
Please note that scholarships awarded outside of a financial aid package may reduce financial aid.

1. Financial Aid - Talk to our financial advisors here on campus. They are here to help you get the aid you need. Their site also links to discipline-specific grants and scholarships.
2. Academic Advisors - Find out who your academic advisor is and talk to them. They may be aware of discipline-specific opportunities.
