What is a Repository?

Repositories are commonly associated with green open access.  Institutional repositories are managed by a college or university to host the scholarly work of the faculty and researchers who work there.  Disciplinary repositories collect scholarship associated with a specific subject regardless of institutional affiliation.

Institutional repositories, like our own Scholarly Commons, can also be used to host journals, Open Educational Resources, and conferences.
