Public Library of SciencePLoS publishes several well-established, open access, peer-reviewed journals. They do use an Article Processing Charge model.

Open Access Publishing Agreements
The Hunt Library has entered into agreements with various publishers to cover the Article Processing Charges (APCs) that some publishers require for open access publishing. There are agreements with:
- American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
- Association For Computing Machinery (ACM)
- Cambridge
You can also search to see if a journal you are interested is covered by one of these agreements using this search tool.
The results will tell you if the APCs are covered and by whom as shown below.

Licensing and Copyright
